Description
The Classic Series 17" x 24" Horizontal Door (Reversible) (DH1724) gives access to storage or utility lines inside an outdoor kitchen island.
It measures 27" W x 20" H x 1-5/8" D and fits a 24-1/4" W x 17-1/4" H cut-out, with a 1-1/2" flange. The door is not vented, so it is reversible: rotate it 180 degrees for a left or right swing. The door opens 180 degrees. The hinges are exposed, and magnets against a 430 stainless steel strike plate hold the door closed. It weighs 11.5 lbs.
The frame is 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and the door panel 18 gauge 304 stainless steel, in a No. 4 light brushed finish with the flush look of the other Classic Series components. It ships with the Polished Chrome Handle (zinc alloy, chrome plated).

Shipping & returns
Shipping & Delivery
All orders ship free to the 48 contiguous United States.
Larger (freight) shipments are curb-side only. A signature and possibly assistance may be required for unloading. We will work with you to arrange a delivery date and time, but the final details will be between you and the freight carrier.
IMPORTANT: ALL LTL DELIVERIES ARE CURBSIDE UNLESS WHITE GLOVE FEES ARE PAID. All reports of damage must be made within 48 hours after delivery.
Receiving Your Shipment
If you received an item that appears to have been damaged in-transit, call us immediately at 888-934-9449 or 512-487-5116, preferably while the driver is still there.
Inspect all freight before signing the driver's receipt. If damage is found, do not reject the shipment, note the damage on the receipt and contact us. For concealed damage, a claim must be filed within 48 hours of delivery.
FedEx and UPS claims are usually resolved within 14 business days. Freight shipper claims may take up to 120 calendar days.
Returns & Exchanges
Returns are accepted within 60 days of original purchase, in original packaging and unused, for a full refund minus a 15% Restocking Fee.
Items cannot have been installed or used. Customer is responsible for all return freight charges, unless the error is on our part. All returned goods must be in new condition and in original cartons, well packed.
We recommend insuring products when shipping back to us. Returns will be rejected if the product is received damaged.

I just installed this 17" x 24" access door in my new outdoor kitchen, and it's fantastic! The reversible feature made installation a breeze, and the stainless steel feels really solid. It's exactly what I needed to finish off my grilling area.
This horizontal access door from Sunstone is top-notch. The 17" x 24" size is perfect for accessing my plumbing and gas lines, and it blends seamlessly with the rest of my outdoor kitchen. Definitely adds a touch of class and keeps things tidy.
The door itself is good quality stainless steel and the reversible hinge is a nice touch. However, for a single access door at $235, I expected a slightly more robust latching mechanism. It does the job, but it's not outstanding for the price.
The DH1724 door looks great once it's in, and the 17" x 24" opening is very practical. I found the instructions for reversing the door a little unclear, which added some time to the installation. It's sturdy, but getting it perfectly flush took some effort.
This Sunstone access door is a solid choice for any outdoor kitchen. The stainless steel construction feels durable and I appreciate the horizontal orientation for my specific setup. It's holding up well to the elements so far.
