Description
The 45" Sunstone Universal Appliance Jacket (SUNJK45) is built for the RUBY5BIR and EMCHDZ42 and takes many other gas and hybrid grill brands out of the box with minor assembly. It is double-walled 304 stainless steel and gives the grill a heat barrier and proper venting inside an outdoor kitchen or BBQ island.
It fits most grills with a maximum cut-out of 39" W x 12" H x 22" D. The grill rests on the upper rim and hangs free inside, and a self-supporting raised ledge runs around the sides and back. The jacket is a zero clearance design.
Vents at the lower front and upper back edges pass excess heat and gas through. Universal covered utility ports on the left and right let you open only the side your gas or electrical line uses. It works with natural gas or propane. With additional accessories it converts to a post-mount grill, and a cabinet peg-leg in each bottom corner lets you set it on a picnic table or blocks before the island is ready.

Customer reviews
About our reviews: they come from verified direct customers and from our authorized dealer network, including Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon and other Sunstone dealers.
I was a bit nervous about finding an appliance jacket that would truly fit my Ruby5BIR, but this Sunstone Universal Jacket was spot on. The installation was straightforward, and it looks incredibly professional in my outdoor kitchen setup. Really happy with the quality and how it integrates everything.
This 45-inch jacket is built like a tank, exactly what you'd expect from Sunstone. It accommodated my grill with just a little bit of assembly, as advertised. My only minor gripe is that the instructions could have been a touch clearer for the 'minor assembly' part, but nothing a handy homeowner can't figure out.
Wow, what a difference this appliance jacket makes! My EMCHDZ42 now looks completely integrated and custom-built into my island. The stainless steel is top-notch, and it really elevates the whole aesthetic of my outdoor cooking space. Definitely worth the investment for a polished look.
The quality of the SUNJK45 is undeniable; it's robust and feels like it will last forever. It did fit my grill well after some adjustments. However, at almost $1500, it feels a little on the expensive side for what is essentially a metal frame, even if it is well-made.
This jacket works for my grill, but the 'minor assembly' was a bit more involved than I anticipated to get a truly flush fit. It's solid once it's in, and the materials are good. I just expected a slightly more seamless experience for the price point.
