Description
The StarBBQ 36" Smokeless Fire Pit Insert (STARBBQ-36SFPR) drops into a standard stacked-stone fire pit and burns charcoal or wood with less smoke. A raised base feeds primary airflow under the fire, so the flames burn hotter and cleaner.
It measures 43-5/16" diameter x 11-1/4" H, needs a 38" diameter x 13" H cut-out and weighs about 55 lbs. The insert is cold-rolled steel with a high-temperature powder-coat finish for weather resistance. It ships as a 4-piece flat pack that goes together in under 10 minutes and works with most retaining wall blocks.
If you want to cook over it, add the optional Post-Mount Swivel Grillers for a low or standing height cooking zone. See our warranty page for coverage.

This StarBBQ 36" insert is a game-changer for our patio! We used to get smoked out every time we had a fire, but this thing really works. Super easy to drop into our existing fire pit surround and the heat output is fantastic.
We absolutely love our new smokeless fire pit insert. The 36-inch size is perfect for our family and friends to gather around, and not having to constantly dodge smoke is a huge plus. It feels really well-built and sturdy, definitely a quality Sunstone product.
As a BBQ enthusiast, I appreciate good engineering, and this StarBBQ insert delivers. The smokeless design is incredibly effective, making evenings by the fire so much more enjoyable. It's a solid piece of equipment that looks great in our outdoor kitchen area.
The StarBBQ 36" insert works as advertised, definitely cuts down on the smoke significantly. Installation was straightforward. My only minor gripe is the price point; it feels a bit steep for just the insert, but the quality is undeniable.
Seriously, if you're on the fence, just get this StarBBQ smokeless insert. We've had so many more enjoyable evenings outside since we installed it. No more smoky clothes or constantly moving chairs – just pure fire pit enjoyment. Highly recommend!
